Transition
KS2 – KS3 Transition What is transition? ‘The broad period of time from preparing to move from primary school until successful settlement of the student in secondary school’ At Middleton Technology School we recognise that the transition from primary to secondary school is a critical time for students involving several changes in educational expectations and practices. Miss. Spence and Mrs. Ramm are the primary transition co-ordinators who endeavour to make this process as smooth as possible. A well-designed transition can maintain the strong sense of belonging that students felt in primary school – so important if they are to continue to enjoy and succeed in academic tasks. When can I see around Middleton Technology School? Parents and children are welcome to visit Middleton Technology School at any time, simply telephone or email to request a suitable day and time. We hold an Open Evening every October where the Headteacher, Mrs. Crompton, will give several talks and there will be tours of the school. Students and staff will be available to answer questions and visitors can see displays of students’ work. A school prospectus will be handed out to your child by Miss Spence prior to the evening, but one can be requested at any time by contacting the school.
