Tony always talked about his ambition to join the Army. He Knew what he wanted to do and achieved his dream. I remember that his dream even entered his art work and he painted the background of his Poster in a Camouflage Pattern. I am deeply saddened by his death and send my sympathy to his family.

Tony needed to do very little to raise a smile from anyone in school, and we both delighted in disrupting German every opportunity we had. Even when I spoke to him about his work in the army he always spoke light heartedly about it and told me funny stories about his guard work, especially in London. I'll never forget his quick wit and cheeky sense of humour.

Being Tony's form tutor for four years was an honour. I have many memories of lunchtimes when he supported our form with hilarious comedy moments. Always quick with a supportive comment and endeavouring to help others. From his first moment in 7AM (you have to be up early to catch us!) coming to our quality form discos with his dapper style and randomly gelled hair - he immediately stood out from the crowd. A wonderfully talented student and a true gent. He believed in his dream and went on to achieve it - so very proud and honourable. Rest in Peace Tony. Your memory will be well served.

I was so sorry to hear of Tony's death. I picked up his English class in year 11 and they were and are the same age as my son. We had a lot of work to get to catch up on and I seemed to spend a lot of time standing over Tony to complete his coursework! But I remember that he was always so charming with his ready smile. Generally he sat at a spare desk which we had in the room because they were such a big class but he regularly swapped seats around the room if folk were absent, he said wasn't bothered as he got on with most people anyway. He was such a gentleman even at 16. He will be sadly missed and my sympathy and prayers are with his family.

Tony was a very good friend of our son Andrew, and was at our house constantly, always witty and charming! He made an impression on our daughters too! It is so sad that he is no longer with us all, but he really did enjoy the army. We hope his family will draw strength from the wonderful and well earned tributes people are writing for him. Rest in Peace Tony - Hillary and Berni send their love XXX
